Prepping for Behavioral Interview Questions

Whether the interview is behavioral or technical, it’s easy to get nervous and forget your “script”.

In this article, I’ve included the main three questions that I think are quite common in behavioral interviews.

Tell me about yourself./Walk me through your resume.

There are quite a few variations to his prompt, but it’s pretty easy to recognize any variations. It is usually the first question and it will ask you to sell yourself. Thus, this is your chance to make a first good impression.

How to prep?

You don’t need a script, but it is good practice to come up with a list of bullet points that you want to hit. Have that list in front of you. Practice ways of going through the list so by the time you’re asked in an interview, you’ll have a good idea of how to go through the list.

You only want to talk about the relevant experiences that led to you applying to the position that you’re interviewing for. If you’re making a transition from a career that you have many years of experience in, then you could make note of what triggered the transition. Try…
